Willow Fencing, Framed Hurdles & Garden Gates

We create a range of woven willow fencing, from large continuous installations to framed hurdles and bespoke garden gates. Blending traditional craftsmanship with contemporary garden design, willow fencing can bring texture, warmth, and natural beauty to any outdoor space. We create natural boundaries that sit beautifully within modern and traditional settings alike. Each piece is unique and handcrafted using locally sourced willow, sweet chestnut or oak.

Continuous Woven Willow Fencing

We specialise in the design, build and installation of bespoke woven willow fencing. We handcraft each fence to combine natural, sustainable beauty with lasting strength and durability. Woven in-situ in one continuous run, forming an elegant, seamless border that flows around existing garden features and the curves and contours of the land. The result is a timeless alternative to hurdle panels, that blends harmoniously into the natural environment.

We use concealed steel uprights to provide strength and long-term durability. Because no timber goes into the ground, the fence stands on a robust foundation that's protected against decay and ensures lasting integrity. Whether woven from the ground up or built atop a wall, willow fencing offers exceptional versatility depending on your needs.

Framed Hurdles

In some settings, a timber-framed hurdle panel is the ideal design solution. Be it a wheelie bin screen, privacy fence or garden boundary, these woven wattle panels offer exceptional strength and a refined, natural aesthetic. Each panel encapsulates the willow weave within a solid timber frame, providing both elegance and durability.

The internal uprights are built into the frame at the top and bottom creating a rigid structure with enduring stability. One of the key advantages of a framed willow hurdle is that, even as the woven material naturally weathers, the strong frame and uprights preserve the integrity of the fence for many years.

For our frames, we primarily use locally sourced timber, which we fell and mill ourselves. Sweet chestnut is our main choice, valued for its natural strength and durability, though we can also source oak or treated softwood where it suits the design. Every material is selected with care to complement the site’s character and ensure a long-lasting, sustainable finish.

Larger or more complex framed hurdle projects are often woven in-situ, while smaller panels can be made to order in our workshop.

Garden Gates

Every garden deserves a thoughtfully crafted gate, and a woven willow fence is beautifully complemented by a matching handmade gate. We make a range of garden gates from simple 'hurdle gates' to sophisticated timber framed pieces - each featuring an elegant integral woven panel that blends seamlessly with other woven garden features.

As with our framed hurdles above, the gate frames provide added strength and longevity to the weave, and all are designed to be re-woven when the willow needs refreshing!

Our frames are crafted from locally sourced sweet chestnut and oak, prized for their natural durability and timeless appeal. Every gate is precision-built in our workshop using traditional mortice and tenon joints, combining heritage craftsmanship with enduring design.
