My latest duckhouse. Usually they float on their own platform and have to be very light. This one had its own island and had to be very heavy so that it couldn't easily be blown over! A welded steel frame , waterproofed sweet chestnut roof and a concealed concrete slab bolted to the underside of the base made it an extremely heavy proposition to carry across the pond with chest waders on. All went well until I realised my waders had a leak at waist level! Hope the ducks appreciate my hardship 🙂
