Our Bent Stick Chairs, sometimes known as bent wood chairs or gypsy willow chairs, make a beautiful addition to your living room, conservatory or covered garden space. We make ours from hazel which has a naturally vibrant and variable bark colour, from silver and gold to brown. When oiled, the colour variation is enhanced making a striking colour contrast. Accompanied with a natural sheep skin, they make the perfect feature.
Styles
We make a standard version and a deluxe version. The standard version is the traditional style, made in the traditional way, with all the stick work nailed together. The deluxe version has more elaborate stick work, but elements of the frame have a mortice and tenon construction to give a more refined finish. They are still a nailed chair in essence. The chairs can also be made with optional stainless steel or copper nails. The standard nails are bright steel.
We also make the chairs with two styles of back, the bow back or the gothic arch
We can make the following variations:-
- Single chair – deluxe or standard – bow back or gothic arch
- Rocking chair – deluxe or standard – bow back or gothic arch
- Double bench – standard – bow back
We can change the seat height and back recline (rake) as well as making them more compact for smaller spaces.
